Dreams in Plastic

All of the images in this series were shot with a Diana camera, a toy camera with a plastic lens that offers only three settings: sun, half-cloud, and cloud. Though I use this rudimentary camera in a formal manner, people find it less intimidating than my more sophisticated equipment. The resulting freer interaction—coupled with the distinctive, ethereal look produced by the technical limitations of the camera—allow for the creation of images that I feel are more reflective of the subject's spirit.
