Mexico: Impressions of an Ancient Culture

Mexico’s siren song often calls to me, which has led me to take multiple trips to this truly beautiful country. Visually, Mexico has much to offer: the colonial architecture of Oaxaca, Guanajuato, and Puebla, the hustle and bustle of grand Mexico City, the ancient ruins that dot the countryside, all of the tiny villages in between, and the landscape itself, with its mountains, jungles, oceans, and deserts. But at the heart of my love of Mexico is its people---their holidays and customs, their mix of contemporary and ancient beliefs, and their warm and welcoming nature. This series of Diana and medium format images attempts to record my impressions of this magical part of the world.
